# Nerd Notes Affiliate Program — Share Your Link, Earn Up to 40% on Course Sales

The Nerd Notes affiliate program pays anyone with a Nerd Notes account a
commission for every sale of the Learn Physics From Scratch course that comes
through their personal link. There is no application: logging in and clicking
"Get my link" is the opt-in. Commission starts at 22% of what the buyer paid
and rises to 40% with sales volume. Payouts go out twice a month by bank
transfer through Stripe.

## How it works

1. **Share the link.** Post it anywhere. Anyone who opens it is tagged to the affiliate for 30 days (last click wins).
2. **They buy the product.** Buyers automatically get the best current discount; the commission is a percentage of what they actually paid.
3. **Get paid.** Each commission clears a 60-day hold, then goes out on the next payout day, the 1st or the 15th.

## Who can join and how

- Any logged-in Nerd Notes account holder. Log in at the page above and click **Get my link**; that click accepts the Affiliate Program Terms and creates one permanent link tied to the account.
- One link per account. It never changes and cannot be transferred.
- Affiliates must be 18 or older to receive a payout; under 18, a parent or guardian receives payouts on their behalf.
- Self-referrals never earn: buying through your own link pays nothing.

## The link comes in three forms

- **Full link** — the course page with the affiliate code, e.g. `https://nerd-notes.com/physics/ap-physics-1-from-scratch-course/?aff=CODE`
- **Short link** — `https://nerd-notes.com/a/CODE`. Same credit, easy to say out loud or type; it forwards to the course page.
- **QR code** — encodes the short link; downloadable from the dashboard as SVG, PDF (vector), PNG, JPG, or copied as an image.
- **Printable flyers** — three premade US Letter templates (counter card, wall poster, two-up handout) with the affiliate's QR and short link already in place, printable in one click or saved as a PDF.

## What earns a commission

- Currently the self-paced course **Learn Physics From Scratch**: https://nerd-notes.com/physics/ap-physics-1-from-scratch-course/ — more products may be added later, and existing links will earn on them too.
- Attribution is a 30-day cookie set by the link; the sale must complete within that window on the same browser.
- Subscriptions and recurring plans, free products, comped access and the affiliate's own purchases do not earn.
- Refunds and chargebacks cancel the commission on that sale.

## Commission tiers

| 5 (Elite) | 100+ | 40% |

Each sale locks in the rate the affiliate was on at the moment of the sale. Refunded sales do not count toward a tier.

## Holds and payouts

- Every commission is held for 60 days from the sale, covering the window in which a sale can still be refunded or charged back.
- Confirmed commissions are paid on the 1st and 15th of the month, by bank transfer through Stripe (PayPal outside the US). Stripe collects bank details before the first payout.
- Balances under $100 roll forward until they reach $100.
- Affiliates are responsible for their own taxes; US affiliates paid $600 or more in a year receive a 1099.

## The affiliate dashboard (requires login)

- **Earnings** — the next payout amount and date, pending commissions still in the hold, the last payout, and the total paid to date.
- **Stats** — join date, sales needed for the next tier, and the funnel: link opens, checkouts started, and completed purchases.
- Counts and amounts only: affiliates never see who bought.

## Promotion rules in brief

Affiliates must disclose that they earn a commission wherever they share the link, make only honest claims, and may not impersonate Nerd Notes, bid on its brand terms, send spam, use bots or forced clicks, or post the link on coupon or cashback sites.
