# Book Lessons — Nerd Notes 1-to-1 Tutoring Calendar

This is the Nerd Notes booking calendar for live 1-to-1 online tutoring.
Students and parents pick a tutor, see that tutor's real availability in
their own time zone, buy hours for that tutor, and book lessons. Every lesson
runs on Zoom, and the link, a confirmation and an email reminder are handled
automatically.

## What you can do

- **Browse live availability** — a month calendar of open times, shown in your local time zone. Calendars open on a rolling advance window; a new day unlocks every day.
- **Switch tutors** — a built-in tutor picker lists every tutor currently taking bookings. The full directory with bios is at https://nerd-notes.com/find-tutors/.
- **Book a lesson** — pick an open time and confirm. If you have no hours with that tutor yet, you buy them at checkout in the same flow.
- **Manage bookings** — logged-in students see upcoming lessons, their hours balance and expiration per tutor, and can cancel from the calendar.
- **After each lesson** — a recap of what was covered, progress tracked across lessons, and targeted practice, all kept on your calendar.

## Hours and pricing

- Every tutor sets their own hourly rate, shown on their calendar.
- Hours are bought **per tutor** as a one-time **package**: you choose the number of hours at checkout. Hours bought for one tutor can only be used for lessons with that tutor, and you can hold hours with several tutors at once.
- **Package hours expire 60 days after purchase.** The expiration date shows next to your balance. Expired hours are not refunded.

- Checkout and refunds are handled by Nerd Notes.

## Cancellation policy

- **At least 8 hours before the lesson:** the hours go back to your balance with the same expiration date. If those hours have already expired, you get one 24-hour window to rebook them with the same tutor.
- **Less than 8 hours before:** the lesson cannot be rescheduled and the hours are used.
- **Late arrivals:** joining more than 10 minutes late means the tutor may shorten or cancel the lesson; the hours are not refunded.
- Recommended pace: 1 to 2 lessons per week.

## Access

- Viewing availability is open to everyone; **booking requires a Nerd Notes account**.
- Hours are bought inside the booking flow with a card; no separate purchase is needed first.
