It applies to all digital goods and services, including but not limited to: - Self-paced online courses - AI tools such as Prof Phy and automated grading - Access to UBQ answer explanations - Tutoring hours, bought as single hours or through a membership For questions about how your data is handled, please refer to our [Privacy Policy](https://nerd-notes.com/privacy). For pricing, refer to the respective product or subscription pages. ## 1. One-Time Purchases ### Courses We offer a **14-day, no-questions-asked refund** on all individual course purchases. > **Note:** All refunds for courses are subject to a **5% non-refundable processing fee**. This covers credit card and platform fees (e.g., Stripe) that are not returned to us by our payment processors. Example: If you paid $100 for a course, your refund would be $95. No refunds will be granted **after 14 days**, regardless of course completion status. If you are unsure about a course, we encourage you to preview materials or reach out before purchasing. ## 2. Subscriptions ### Auto-Renewal Subscriptions automatically renew at the then-current price and billing frequency until you cancel. You may cancel at any time through your account dashboard or by emailing us at **support@nerd-notes.com**. Cancellation stops future charges and takes effect at the end of your current billing period; your access continues until then. You will not be charged again once cancelled, and you will not be refunded for the current period. ### Phy AI & Grading Tools Subscriptions to Prof Phy and AI-powered grading or UBQ access are **non-refundable once a payment has been processed**. Because these services provide instant access to digital tools and explanations, no retroactive refunds are available. You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation will apply to the **next billing cycle**. Your current access will continue until the end of the current period. ### Tutoring Memberships (Subscription Plans) A tutoring membership adds a set number of hours to your account each billing cycle at a discounted hourly price. Billing follows the auto-renewal rules above and is **non-refundable once billed**, even if no hours are used that month. How the hours themselves work, including the 60-day booking window, cancelling lessons, cancelling the membership and refunds, is covered in Section 3, Tutoring Hours. ## 3. Tutoring Hours All one-to-one tutoring on Nerd Notes runs on hours. There are two ways to buy them: - **Single hours**: a one-time purchase for a specific tutor at that tutor's hourly price. Available for every tutor. - **Memberships**: a monthly subscription that adds a set number of hours each billing cycle at a discounted hourly price. Offered by select tutors. The rules below apply to hours bought either way. **Where hours can be used** - Hours are tied to the tutor you bought them for and can only be used for lessons with that tutor. - The hourly price and the booking window are shown before you pay. **Booking window (60 days)** - Every hour must be booked within **60 days** of the day it was added to your account: the purchase date for single hours, the billing date for membership hours. You can book the lesson for any available time. - Membership hours roll over from month to month within that window: each month's hours stay usable for 60 days from the day they are added. - Hours not booked within 60 days expire. **Cancelling a lesson** - Cancel at least **8 hours** before the start time and the hours return to your balance with the same expiration as before. - Cancel with less than 8 hours notice and the hours are forfeited. - If the hours came from a purchase that has already expired, you get **24 hours** from the cancellation to rebook them. After that they expire. **Cancelling a membership** - You may cancel at any time from your account or by emailing **support@nerd-notes.com**. Cancellation stops future charges and no further hours are added. - Hours already in your account stay usable until their original expiration date. **Refunds** - Expired hours are not refunded, whether they came from a single purchase or a membership. - Completed lessons are non-refundable. - Hours that have not expired are not normally refunded. If there is a good reason, for example your tutor has had no bookable availability, email **support@nerd-notes.com** and we will consider refunding the unused hours. - If your tutor cancels or misses a lesson, the hours are returned to you with a fresh 60-day booking window. ## 4. Non-Refundable Items The following items are **not eligible for refunds under any circumstances**: - Gift cards or promotional credits - Downloaded files or digital study packs - Subscription fees once processed - AI tools or UBQ access (once billing has occurred) - Completed 1-to-1 tutoring sessions - Tutoring hours not booked within their 60-day booking window - Course access requests after the 14-day refund period ## 5. Refund Processing & Timelines - Approved refunds are processed within **48 hours** of confirmation. - Funds are returned to your original payment method. - Banks and credit card companies may take an additional **3–5 business days** to reflect the refund. If more than **7 business days** have passed since your refund was approved and you have not received the funds, please contact us at: **support@nerd-notes.com** ## 6. Final Notes Nerd Notes reserves the right to review refund requests on a case-by-case basis. While we strive to be flexible and student-friendly, we also enforce these guidelines to ensure fairness and sustainability across all our services.
