# Become an Online Tutor at Nerd Notes — AP & SAT Tutoring Jobs

Nerd Notes hires US-based AP and SAT tutors for paid 1-to-1 online tutoring.
The platform automates the busywork around teaching — booking, Zoom sessions,
payments, after-session recaps sent to parents, progress tracking, and
auto-generated practice — so tutors spend their time teaching. This page is
the recruiting site and application form for prospective tutors.

**Start here:** https://nerd-notes.com/tutor/ (the application form is on this page)

## The job

- **Teach 1-to-1 online sessions** in your specialty: AP Physics 1/2/C, AP Chemistry, AP Biology, AP Environmental Science, AP Calculus AB/BC, AP Statistics, AP Computer Science A, SAT — or another subject you know deeply.
- **Control your own schedule** — set weekly hours, time off, and booking rules; two-way Google Calendar sync prevents double-booking with your personal calendar.
- **Sessions run on Zoom**, launched from your tutor dashboard; payments are handled by the platform on a fixed payout schedule.
- **Hourly rates grow with a tier system** — more sessions unlock higher tiers; Elite-tier tutors get 1:1 mentorship, monthly training, and the highest pay rates on the platform.
- **The platform does the follow-up** — after each session, a lesson recap is written and sent to the family within minutes, student progress is tracked across lessons, and a practice quiz is auto-built from what the student struggled with.
- **Public tutor profile** — a customizable profile page students and parents see before booking.

## Requirements

- Deep expertise in an AP or SAT curriculum (other areas of deep expertise also considered).
- 500+ hours of teaching experience — in-school or out, formal or informal.
- Based in the US (students span Pacific, Mountain, Central, and Eastern time).
- A setup for showing written work live: drawing tablet, iPad + Apple Pencil, document camera, or whiteboard.
- At least 3 hours of availability across 3 days per week.

## How to apply

- Fill out the 3-step application form at https://nerd-notes.com/tutor/ (about you, your expertise, why you teach — roughly 2 minutes).
- Applications are reviewed, usually within 48 hours; some applicants get a short 20-minute call.
- On approval you set up your dashboard, connect Google Calendar and Zoom, and go live for bookings.
- The job listing is also posted at https://nerd-notes.com/home/nerd-notes-job-listings/
