Mass-spring system at the left extreme, at equilibrium, and at the right extreme
Mass-spring system at the left extreme, at equilibrium, and at the right extreme
A horizontal spring is attached to a fixed wall on the left, with a spherical mass on a frictionless surface on the right. Three positions of the mass–spring system are shown: the top drawing is the left extreme of motion with the spring fully compressed, the middle drawing is the midpoint of travel (equilibrium), and the bottom drawing is the right extreme with the spring fully stretched. Indicate on the drawings the following.
