AP Physics 2
10.1 Electric Charge and Electric Force
An electron and a proton are initially separated by a distance \(d\). At this separation, the magnitude of the electrostatic force between them is \(F_e\) and the magnitude of the gravitational force between them is \(F_g\). The distance between the two particles is then increased to \(3d\). What are the new magnitude of the electrostatic force \(F_e'\) and the new ratio of the electrostatic force to the gravitational force \(\dfrac{F_e'}{F_g'}\)?
